A more detailed answer, I was looking for was:
He just bought those things (I don't know what they're called) that Tiffany was allergic to, and he rubbed it on himself, to see if he was also allergic, since it was genetic...
He kept asking Louisa if he was getting any rashes/redness on his skin...
He then cried because he realised that he was Tiffany's biological father...
