Leaves that are brown soft or mushy normally depict either overwatering or improper drainage. The presence of excessive moisture may lead to root rot, which has an overall effect on the health of the plant. Take the plant out of wet soil, cut out any rotten roots, and replant in dry and well-draining soil. The excess direct sunlight can also cause brown tips. Vary watering and light requirements early enough so as to bring your plant back to its healthy look. Know more about aloe plant care
