Hiya peeps.

Well my name's Vanessa, i'm a British Born Chinese. 23 years old. I've lived in London all my life & grew up here, my folks are from HK & China.
I've only just literally joined this page, so I maybe a lil' behind from you guys out there.

I have a question though peeps, if you can really help me.

Q: In London, we don't get the latest dvd TVB shows here. So therefore I don't get to see all the good shows everyone is talking about. BUT my folks are coincidentally in HK now, so I want them to get me some good TVB shows to bring back to London. Could any of you guys give me some names of some recent TVB shows? The last one that I saw was Under the Canopy of Love. I really love romance/comedy. Especially anything with Ron Ng, Bosco Wong, Myolie Wu, Michelle Ye & Kevin Cheung/Nikki Chow. To Tiffany-lol if you can count to 20, i think you could count to 1000. It's basically the same format. i learned how to count to 10 and then that's basically all you need to know to count to 99

Yup i'm Australian. I'm glad that you want to visit Australia, because it is a great place. But plese don't believe those stereotypes where Australians are all weirdos who eat Kangeroos and all have weird accents :)

Well, it's kind of hard to actually know what the stars' are actually like off the stage, because most of them can be actually acting their personality...
I don't really pay much attention to anyone's snobbiness, and i focus on their singing abilities.

I only like watching PBN, and i don't really fancy Asia or Van Son...
Besides Minh Tuyet, i like Tam Doan, Tu Quyen, Nhu Quynh, Kieu Oanh, Luong tung Quang, Tran Thai Hoa, The Son and Quang Le.

To AM: Yes, i love Nhu Quynh, she's a classic. My uncle has like all of her cd's. And also, i do hear of those Australian stereotypes all the time. My friend actually went to australia and bought back Kangaroo jerky though. And to babysugargirl: haha i think the vietnam stereotype with the whole eating dogs are partially true, because at my grandmother's house in Vietnam, they had a dog roast :S

Just wanted to start a new discussion with you guys,
Do you and your family & siblings give nicknames to actors and actresses for a particular thing in a series or something they did in a series??

Well, among me and my siblings, after we watched healing hands 3, we gave Maria Chan (Bowie Lam's ex in HH3), the nickname "The Bear" after the scene in HH3 where she was involved in a fire and was brought into the ER...
I just wanted to hear if you guys made any funny nicks...

(God, we talk more than we play the games!)

My family (grandmother, aunts, parents) calls actors/actresses by their character's name in really old series.

I'll give a couple of examples:
For Bobby, they call him by his character name in New Adventures of Chor Lau Heung. His character name was Sit Bun, so they call him Ah Bun. Now they call him 'Fat Boy.'

For Tai Chi Wai, they call him by his character name in Legend of the Condor Heroes. His character name was Tor Lui, so they still call him by that name.

My aunts do try to learn the real names for the younger actors/actresses.
What is surprising to me is sometimes I hear my grandmother calling some artists by their real name.

grrrr... i also got one for forgeting my english book! man i am so clumsy these day!!!

Don't stress over it too much. And yea, i don't see how it belongs under the DISRESPECT TEACHERS AND STUDENT category.
Over here in Canada is not hot at all, it's still chilly considering its still winter but the temperature has gotten a little warmer.
And yes, i am a vegetarian, have been one since i was 7!
I want to say i'm athletic, but really, im not. I try to play different types of sports, but im not a pro. I'd play soccer and tennis the most. I love badminton too, i could say im quite good at badminton but that's an easy sport.
