Out of all the Best Actresses, who do you think did the best performance? Also, please discuss, if you believe another actress deserved the Best Actress Award in a particular year... For example, I would have rathered Kenix Kwok (Revolving Doors of Vengeance) than Liza Wang (Wars of In-Laws). Also, Flora Chan's performance in Family Man wasn't that outstanding, so I would rather see her win for A Case of Misadventure in that year. During 2004, there were many discussions about Gigi Lai's win over Sheren Tang... I didn't pay much attention to War and Beauty, so I can't say anything about that. But if Gigi won for something, I would prefer the Charm Beneath or Dance of Passion (Though Charmaine did deserve the award in 2006). I don't remember what year Love is Beautiful was, but Marianne Chan should've got that award.
Anyway,here's something that I've noticed: In 2003, Maggie Cheung won for the King of Yesterday and Tomorrow, and she was standing in the 1st Position, out of the Top 5 Actresses. In 2005, Liza Wang won for Wars of In-Laws, and she also stood in the 1st Position. The same thing happened in 2006, with Charmaine Sheh... But back in 2004, Gigi Lai did not stand in the 1st position... instead, it was Sheren Tang (So maybe Sheren should've won).
First of all, I have not watched Maidens' Vow, so I'm not going to say anything about that. I thought Ada did a pretty good job in The Dance of Passion. I wouldn't mind if she won the award for 2006. Out of those who won, I would choose Esther for good performance in Lady Flower Fist in '97. For 2004, I think Sheren should have got it instead of Gigi. I only watched parts of War and Beauty, but I liked Sheren's character more than Gigi's. For 2005, I think Kenix should have won the award. AM, I agree with you about Marianne winning the award for Love is Beautiful. I think that should have been for 2001 - too bad Liza won that year. If Liza has a series for that year, TVB is likely to give the award to her because she is the 'big sister.' So for 2005, I was pretty sure Liza was going to win the award for War of In-Laws. I felt bad for Kenix; I think she should have won instead.
Honeybee, I agree with you agreeing with me (I hope that makes sense). Yeah, I thought Marianne's performance in Love is Beautiful was outstanding, but I didn't watch An Awakening Story, so I can't say Liza's performance wasn't as good. Again, yeah, I felt sorry for Kenix too... I hope she at least gets into the Top 5 this year, for Ten Brothers, but I doubt so, since she already left TVB, so why would they bother. I watched Lady Flower Fist when I was really young, but I did remember that I really enjoyed it, though I can't say much about Esther's performance, but she's a capable actress, and I believe she deserved it.
hmmm..to be honest..i dont think any of those roles were outstanding..none of them were too hard or complicated to act and none of them really stand out..but being a lil biased, am a gigi fan so voted for her role though like AM said, i think she should have won for charm beneath or dance of passion rather than war and beauty..
am also a big kenix fan and am bummed that she has yet to receive a reward whereas TVB are being biased and shoving all the awards to liza wang!after receivin such good ratings for ten brothers..i am hoping she will be in the top five but with series like heart of greed and drive of life about..i think ten brothers will be fast forgotten..
I choose Jessica for Detective Investigation Files 4. But I would have picked Gigi for Dance of Passion is she won in 2006.
Ying Ying - agree none of the roles were that great. And so not fair to Kenix she is such a great actress and has worked with TVB for so many years and they don't even give her 1 best actress award!
P.S - i hated Liza Wang in Wars of In-Laws -she sux
