as far as i know the last series he made at tvb was shades of truth--which was 18 months ago. that's a long time, i'm starting to get worried...even though he is a low production actor (record: entered tvb 10yrs filmed 11 series)
but he recently appeared on tvb's the super trio show..i think his relationship with tvb is still good but maybe his contract matured.
you're right, it's not a tvb series but..actually it's not that new...it was made 2 1/2 years ago! i refused to watch it b/c i know he's a bad guy in it and ppl say you will hate him to death by the end
the most recent series he worked on was a taiwan/china production with bowie tsang which finished shooting in april..i hope it will be release in vcd b/c i'm really looking forward to it
a while ago I saw a mainland/taiwan series with Wong Hei in it. i was really surprised to see him and i was like "did he left TVB?" i didn't get to actually sit down to watch that series because it was during school hours when the show appeared on cable and it was in Mandarin. it was kind of weird listening to his Mandarin with the other casts' Mandarin since he has the cantonese-accent when he speaks. anyway, i wished he didn't left TVB, but then again, he might turn out great in mainland/taiwan. like Dicky Cheung Wai Keen.
This thread began in July 2005. At the time, Wong Hei was temporarily on leave after filming Shades of Truth. But he is back now (2006)-CIB Files. But he might go again because i don't think he's on contract with tvb. Just probably 1 series per year.
