How is “FWD” typically used in emails?

In email messages, forwarding is indicated by adding the initials FWD at the start of the subject line in case the person is forwarding an already existing message to a new recipient. To give an example, the email message FWD: Meeting Schedule informs the reader that the information in the email is information that has been sent before. The email content can consist of the original message and any other remarks by the sender. This option is popular in both work and personal communication to exchange updates, valuable information or documents without having to rewrite the whole text.
